The serene look upon this sleeping woman’s oblivious face is at the center of this dream-like piece. There is an imagination that comes over the viewer as her environment seems to materialize revealing a mane hold her close to him whilst she sleeps. What a kind man to hold her thus whence she needs it. I made this drawing years ago with the ‘dipping’ fountain pen. It combined the styles of line work and ‘pointelism’ to capture that feeling of the world gently bluring away as one nods off to sleep.

This pillow is haunted by a soothing piece of writing as her ghost story appears on the other side. It is printed in the gloriuos flourish of my beloved tratetello font to make for a romantic aesthetic. I also made a tiny ink drawing below the text just for this gorgeous piece so that you can feel the images even more as you read the writing. This calming writing reads thus:

"Then slowly, she moved her lips from his and slid down into slumber. "This poor tired Woman", He thought. He was taken by surprise at first before realizing what a week she'd had. He no longer heard the rain, or the clip-clopping of the hooves outside, nor felt the gentle bumps of the carriage. He only heard her breath. He only felt the heat of her sleeping weight upon him. He felt like a part of the background, content to experience her resting, careful not to stir. He was a guardian of her serenity, a kind of a Warlock absorbing her exhaustion... somehow it gave him a fulfillment in itself. And he lay against the door listening to that breathing... stroking that hair..."
