She was my first Mermaid Painting the year {2022} and she was created using the exquisitely sturdy and aged paper of the Nomadic Art Journal. I am in love with this parchment quality of her world. The inspiration was that which a Mermaid might experience when she encounters a warm shaft of sunlight cuting through he cold waters.

Would she feel the light as she holds her supple swimming arms around hit. How beautiful a moment. To forget the vast lonely seascape and lose herself in the warmth of Apollo and were one to bear witness to this rare and intimate moment- they might see her partaking in a slight slow-dance around the light.

I look upon the serene expression upon her face, the way the light bathes her- and I can almost hear the music she is dancing too…
