In the midst of my October Thoughts I had a strange tale that came to visit me and she wouldnt leave go her tight grip upon me until this piece was finished. I have often puzzled at the Vampire’s strange laws- mostly that of requiring invitation to enter one’s house. I thought- ‘if this ghoulish killer’ cannot enter without such a permit- then they would surely cease to be a threat so long as you stay in doors for the night yes? And what knowing person would be foolish enough to allow her in… Then came her story to me. When she was invited in by a sad and truly lonely soul. It is his openness to her that calms her hunger for the moment. Perhaps she remembers her ex-humanity. Perhaps it is for a moment or maybe his dark night of the soul melts her cold heart. Still it is a moment of the greatest kindness one soul can offer another. And this Vampire feels the solace she gives to her dear prey.
