Khione, The Snow Nymph {Celestial Nymph} 2 Sizes

from $28.00

She is of the Aurai, The Nymphs of the Breezes and Winds. Khione was born of the Greek God Boreas, also known as the feared North Wind and her Mother was Oreithyia the fierce Mountain Gale. Khione is the Nymph and Greek goddess of the snow. She is melancholy and mystery. Though she is an Aurai she may also be an Oread- a Nymph of the Mountains where she tends to reside {Snow}.
In the often dark and brutal world of Greek Mythology, Nymphs have the precarious fate of Minor Goddesses and Khione being of such ethereal snowy beauty finds herself with many suitors, some desired more than others. She birthed Three sons each by different fathers. One of whom was Eumolpus, The Thracian King born of Posiedon the Lover who she may have actually loved in return.
Khione is a Nymph for the Contrarian as I see it. She may dwell within a mood as soft as powdery fresh snow lest you anger her to a roaring blizzard. Humble one moment and vain the next, she is as complex as the myriad of sacred geometry within a falling flake of ice. She may act as merciless as the bitter cold whilst she craves the fresh warmth of the morning sunlight upon her skin not unlike the sunlight as it paints adoration upon the white snow- it was Apollo who doted upon her and disquised himself to aquire her. She is that moment when one feels the heat of one's hands warming their soft cheeks. A Wonderful and immortal place for a Hot and Cold Goddess to reside...
