The Moon Tree {Ghost Story} 12"x18"

The Moon Tree {Ghost Story} 12"x18"

$33.00

One of my Older tales. The Moon Tree was an after math of my classic experience waking up in a cold sweat from a dream. I will never forget the feeling I had going out into the freezing cold evening in the countryside without. I had a dear friend going through a suicidal fight of their life at that time and this was a combination of the two experiences- mine and theirs.
Once I was out in the refreshing cool night, I spied a majestic Oak tree shrouded in the shadows of it’s own moonlit branches. I remember the calmness I felt as I sought too capture this complexity on paper with my ‘dipping’ fountain pen in the middle of an October night. I wrote the story as I drew {as is my tendency} and I awoke the next day wondering where all of this came from {as is also my tendency}.

The uniqueness of these one-page-stories and what they hold over the original piece of art is that they actually appear right along side the haunting story in glorious and romantic ‘Trattatello’ font harkening to a world that dreamed and yearned before anything digital ever happened to us. These pieces attain a ‘completion’ between the story, acting to illustrate the art in a way the original piece lacks and a combined symmetry between the masculinity of words and the femininity of visuals for a truly satisfying story-time experience to be appreciated with a comforting glance at your haloed wall. The result is a piece all its own- achieving it’s full expression as a print.

Here’s what your haunted-yet-strangely-comforting Ghost Story will read...

Yea, and there in the pale light, with the gentle icy wind and all the branches rustling silently above her... she placed her slender hand upon the creaking bough. “Hello, Old Friend.”, she whispered.
And her thoughts steadied. “Hello again, yesssss.”, the Wind hissed. Aye, and were there any nearby witnesses, they might have seen a slender branch slightly nearer to her..."
