And somewhere a Mama Bear has tuckered out all her curious cubs for the day. They will have no trouble keeping warm as they have bear-fur coats as well as the birthright to snuggle up next to the body heat of the largest teddy bear in the land. Of all the Land Mammals in the Western World- it is the Bear who towers above the rest. The will spend summer and autumn fattening up to sleep through the Winter in a a secluded cave somewhere. But for now the Cubs sleep for just the evening in the open air until morning in the shadow of a Great Mother who protects their innocence.

This is “Little Hibernations”. The Bear symbolizes power, healing, and protection. It also has a universal appeal of coziness. This piece begs the question: Who’s the luckier one- is it the Child who has the largest loving Teddy Bear ever? Or is it the Mama who has three little Teddy Bear children?

EMBELLISHMENT: Your limited piece comes with a golden border hand-drawn onto the print by myself, the artist, as well as a golden signature. It is numbered with your own golden number that says where in this very limited series your piece falls.

ABOUT THE PROJECT “Little Hibernations” was created as a page for the upcoming picture book, “Now The Time” and made with a mix of pencils and digital art tools. The book is a lullaby written by Matthew Temple who among many things is an experienced a capella singer. Matthew has three kids and though they are all grown up now {if any of us actually do grow up} this lullaby, “Now The Time” is the piece he used to sing to them. Indeed he sent me the lyrics and I saw a bequiling world living in that song
