The miracle of Bioluminescence makes for a magical existence in the gift of the firefly. The FireFly communicates with light- indeed they are sensitive to light pollution and tend to prefer old logs, ferns, and leaves. There is no sight that matches a meadow or forest in the warm summer nights like when a shimmer of Fireflies quietly glows in random places all through the pink light of 6pm. It not only looks romantic- it IS so- as the flashing lights are part of the Firefly courtingcourting ritual…

This is “Tiny Light-Bringer”. The Firefly- similar to the butterfly has a beauty that comes with a short life span. Most of its life is spent as a larva and when it finally takes to the air with enticing talents of light, it will will feed, lay eggs, mate and soon after it will perish. Look upon this piece and recall how vast and beautiful our world is- that whilst it has darkness… there are these creatures of pure magic and determination to fly and bring light to others…

EMBELLISHMENT: Your limited piece comes with a golden border hand-drawn onto the print by myself, the artist, as well as a golden signature. It is numbered with your own golden number that says where in this very limited series your piece falls.

ABOUT THE PROJECT “Tiny Light-Bringer” was created as a page for the upcoming picture book, “Now The Time” and made with a mix of pencils and digital art tools. The book is a lullaby written by Matthew Temple who among many things is an experienced a capella singer. Matthew has three kids and though they are all grown up now {if any of us actually do grow up} this lullaby, “Now The Time” is the piece he used to sing to them. Indeed he sent me the lyrics and I saw a bequiling world living in that song
