Merbath is a treasure of epic experiments for me. This is actually her second form. She was actually inspired by all the boiling and roiling hot water I felt as I designed this shop and it’s prints. I was designing a different print of Merbath- then of a much smaller painting - maybe 5x 8 if that. I enjoyed the story of Merbath {Not seen here} and wanted to create something more appropriate to her sensuality and all the erotic feelings within the tale. As I designed the sketch I also knew that I wanted her to be a much bigger piece- designed to command a wall with her relaxing moment to breathe in tiny ocean of lovers bathtub. It also began my first ever foray and love affair with Gouache paint. There are a lot of first times and victories with this. It brings a feeling of genuine satisfaction. Not unlike the experience of the calm Mermaid in her fragrant bath if I do say so myself…

"Hmmmmm..." she muses with a contented smile, staring into the flames of his waxen towers as they fall upon her afterglow.
Her eyes close again and off she swims into the candle-lit sea of her past. There is nothing else for a mermaid quite like surrendering to the memories of her conquests...
